The Space

Petersfield Youth Theatre pushes the boundaries of theatre for young people, aiming to offer experiences of the highest possible quality in a positive, creative and supportive environment. We were formed in 1990 and are a registered charity.

PYT has grown rapidly and with many activities and performances taking place during the year, it has become impossible for us to find rehearsal and workshop space to accommodate our 350 plus members between the ages of 5 and 25yrs.

As a result, during our Spring Season 2007 we launched The Big Plan, which outlines our intention to create a community arts venue from which to deliver our year round activities. Whilst providing a home for PYT, the venue which we are currently calling The Space, will also fulfil the needs of our local community.

We want The Space to be something Petersfield can be proud of. Our project has the potential to make a substantial difference to both PYT and our town's other cultural organisations.

Research and development is under way and plans are progressing. Many people have pledged support and our dream is beginning to materialise.

The most challenging part of a project of this scale is raising funds. However, we have devised a scheme to allow many people to make a small contribution, with the possibility of winning a jackpot for themselves.

During our Autumn Season 2007 we launched Weekly Winners. This is a subscription-based lottery. Click to find out more about Weekly Winners. Why not help PYT, your local charity, and win a jackpot of your own!
